LiberateWeb Web development consultancy
About LiberateWeb

No layers between you and the work.

The person you brief is the person who designs and builds it. Fewer handoffs, clearer answers and direct responsibility.

Jan Kraus / Founder & lead developer

One person responsible for the decisions and the implementation.

LiberateWeb is the independent practice of Jan Kraus. After more than fifteen years building for the web, my goal is still simple: make useful things well, with people who value clarity.

Staying solo keeps the work close. There is no account-management layer and no translation gap between a decision and its implementation. You always know who is responsible—and why something was done.

I prefer a small number of trusted clients, focused work and the option of an ongoing partnership once we know the relationship works.

Closer collaboration.
Calmer delivery.

I start by understanding the operation, then agree a clear plan with visible milestones. If the scope changes, I tell you before the price does.

01

Direct access

You work with me from the first question to the final line of code. Nothing is filtered through an account layer.

02

Solid foundations

I build fast, accessible products your team can understand and update. The essentials are foundations, not add-ons.

03

Steady delivery

Working progress, visible decisions and useful documentation mean you always know where the work stands and what comes next.

From first question to useful product.

Enough structure to keep the work predictable. Enough flexibility to respond when I learn something important.

  1. 01

    Discovery & audit

Understand the operation, the constraints and the signals that will define success.

  2. 02

    Insight & direction

Turn what I learn into a lean plan, a clear scope and shared measures of progress.

  3. 03

    Roadmap & build

Prioritise the useful parts, ship in thoughtful increments and keep communication close.

  4. 04

    Launch & transition

Test together, deploy with confidence and hand over straightforward documentation.

  5. 05

    Care & iteration

Monitor the product, capture what I learn and decide where the next improvement matters.

Modern enough to move quickly. Proven enough to sleep at night.

Technology is there to remove friction, not create theatre. I choose the simplest dependable approach that can do the job properly.

Proven technology

Established frameworks and patterns with a record of performing reliably in production.

Useful modernity

New standards where they make the product faster or simpler—not because they are fashionable.

Readable code

Straightforward architecture your team can understand, maintain and extend independently.

Built to last

Performance, accessibility and security treated as foundations rather than finishing touches.

Good work starts with a clear conversation.

Bring the problem, the context and the awkward questions. I will give you a candid assessment and work out whether we should solve it together.
